Need to do some online shopping? Chances are you'll somehow end up on Amazon.com.

The company is a big online retailer when it comes to finding what you want and at affordable prices, but there are other ways to save money when shopping on Amazon.

If you are a student with a school email address (one that ends with ".edu") you can qualify for Amazon Student membership which is $49 a year versus the regular Amazon Prime membership which costs $99 a year.

Amazon Student also gives you a free 6-month trail before you pay, and Amazon Prime offers a free 30-day trail. Both memberships offer free 2-day shipping.

If you have a Prime membership you can still save by sharing the benefits with someone else. A Prime account can be shared between two adults in a household. For example, let’s say your husband has an Amazon Prime account. He can share his benefits of free shipping, free instant streaming video by giving you authorization to use his account. This process can be done online through the account settings.

Amazon also has a low price guarantee on TVs and cell phones that they sell. If you find a lower price on a qualifying website or on Amazon's own website within 14 days from when your order shipped, the company will refund you the difference. You must contact them for this.

But remember, you shouldn't just order everything you can find on Amazon if you have a Prime account because you have access to fast and free shipping. I have found that Amazon isn't always the cheapest option, so make sure as always to do your research before buying anything from anyone.
