Forget about going to a waiting room. You can connect to a certified doctor, save money on your next prescription and sync up to your health insurance, all through your phone!
You guessed it. There's an app for that! We found out about one called, "HealthiestYou".
Here's how the website and video explains the app: it shows you a map with nearby doctors, pharmacies, urgent care facilities, emergency rooms and veterinarians as well. In the app, you can connect instantly with a certified doctor who can diagnose, treat and prescribe for over 70 percent of typical office visits right over the phone, and send it to a pharmacy near you.
The company also claims the app will save you up to 85 percent on your next prescription. (Remember, the words UP TO don't guarantee 85 percent off. It could be less.) Costs for prescriptions vary by store, so the app shows you the cheapest prices nearby. Apparently, the app can also send you alerts or reminders on how you can save when you walk into a pharmacy.
The app also syncs with your health insurance, so you can track in-network and out-of-network deductibles for you and your family. Plus, you can bookmark your providers.
It's free to download from the app store. Keep in mind though, when you register, you'll have to enter personal information, including your location. Otherwise, you may not get alerts, reminders, or be able to find information on a map, for example.
