Glendale Police: Man grabbed girl, 12, near school on Thursday

Glendale police are looking for a man suspected of grabbing a 12-year-old girl on her way to school on Thursday morning.

According to police, the girl was walking in the area of 75th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane around 8:40 a.m. when she noticed a man that appeared to be following her. When she was near her school, the man grabbed her backpack, but she was unharmed, police say.

The incident is still under investigation.

Glendale police have the following "Stranger Danger" tips:

-    Do not talk to strangers if approached
·    Do not accept rides from strangers
·    If approached by a stranger, run away immediately, and tell a trusted adult or call 911
·    Always walk or ride in groups
·    Always pay attention to your surroundings
 

Glendale police are now patrolling the area more heavily before and after school.
