A barricade situation at a Tempe hotel has ended peacefully and a man has been booked by police.

According to the Tempe Police Department, Kevin Rocheteau barricaded himself inside Days Inn hotel room near Elliot Road and Priest Drive on Saturday afternoon after a relative called police on him.

Tempe police said a female relative called 911 after she felt something strange was going on with the man. Police said the man does live in the Valley, but they don't know what the pair was doing at the hotel.

When police arrived to respond to the woman's 911 call, they knocked on the door and Rocheteau answered. When he saw it was police, he closed the door and told them he had just put on a bullet proof vest. At that moment, police called for back up.

Police did try to negotiate with the man and talk with him, and eventually he gave up and SWAT members made entry into the room. The man was charged for threats against officers, according to Tempe police.
