You've heard of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The non-profit was started right here in the Valley. It's changed a lot of young lives and now one group is hoping to give back through a game of dodgeball.
"The hardest part of dodgeball to is like try to catch an easy ball and you drop it," said Kenny Yanga. Kenny plays on a dodgeball league here in the Valley.
So does Patty Redden. "It's a good way to get aggression out sometimes," said Redden.
The group comes from all walks of life and on Sunday they won't be playing just to win, they'll be playing for Make-A-Wish Arizona, raising money for the charity in a dodgeball tournament.
"Raising money and playing a sport that I really love and then knowing that we're raising money, it's a good feeling," said Yanga.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of kids with life threatening illnesses. Kenny's friend Cody is a wish kid himself. Cody beat cancer. During the 2016 fiscal year, Make-A-Wish Arizona granted 365 wishes.
The tournament starts at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Kiwanis Park in Tempe.
