The owner of Johnson Utilities has a lot of questions to answer as he's facing criminal charges. Now, the Arizona Corporation Commission will open the company's books to review rate hikes.

Johnson Utilities provides water and sewage in the San Tan Valley area. It's long been criticized for poor water quality and sewage leaks.

George Johnson is accused of conspiring with a lobbyist to bribe a former commissioner. Johnson is accused of using money from rate hikes to pay personal tax debt.

On Tuesday, the Arizona Corporation Commission will take a closer look at the rates and the company's books.

Johnson has stepped down to defend himself. He and three others have pleaded not guilty.
