Crews from the Mesa Fire Department rescued a woman after a tree collapsed on her home Monday afternoon.
According to fire officials, the incident happened near University Drive and Center Street.
The woman suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Mesa fire originally reported the victim in the home was a man, but later corrected the information to say it was a woman injured.
"We could've lost my mom yesterday because of the monsoon storm," Tia Oso told ABC15 Tuesday.
Oso says her family is still shaken up after a 150-foot pine tree crashed through her childhood home, trapping her disabled mother, Ellen, inside.
"The tree fell on her and trapped her through the bed," Oso said.
Oso says her mom was sitting on the side of the bed when the tree went crashing through her bedroom window.
"If she had been laying down the tree would've went through her, the tree would've crushed her," Oso said.
Oso lives out of state but says her mom and three other family members were inside the home at the time. She's thankful everyone got out alive.
The family now faces another problem.
"Now we have to cope with being homeless at this point," Oso said.
"The house itself may have to be demolished, and that is really really heartbreaking to me right now to even be faced with that."
A GoFundMe has since been set up for the Oso family.
