Police shot and wounded a man wielding a knife in a Mesa neighborhood overnight.

Officers responded to the area of Ellsworth and Brown roads just after midnight in response to a domestic violence call.

A man at the scene had a knife and kept advancing at officers despite commands, even after he was shot with a bean bag.

Mesa Police says two officers then shot at the suspect. He is currently at the hospital in stable condition.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Impairment may have been a factor, police say.
