The Mesa Fire Department used a Fido Bag Sunday morning to help save a cat pulled from an apartment fire near the US 60 and Extension Road.
Firefighters say that as they went through the apartment they found the cat foaming from the mouth and having obvious trouble breathing because of heavy smoke.
They took the cat outside and used the Fido Bag to give it oxygen. After a few minutes, firefighters say the cat started to recover and is doing better. The cat’s owners arrived to the apartment a few minutes later.
Nobody was inside the home at the time, and no other animals were injured.
Firefighters have not said what started the fire.
