The Arizona Department of Public Safety says they are investigating a death near Loop 101 and Loop 202 along the Tempe-Mesa border.
Officials first said it was a police situation, but clarified Tuesday morning that it was a death investigation. They could not give further details.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says Loop 202 Red Mountain was first shut down at Loop 101 around 11 p.m. Monday. The freeway was reopened around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.
