Aerospace giant Orbital ATK cut the ceremonial ribbon on a new satellite engineering building in Gilbert Wednesday.

The company announced the decision to expand their Arizona operation 16 months ago. The new facility adds 60,000 square feet to the original site and promises 155 new high-wage jobs in five years.

Orbital ATK is responsible for designing and building aerospace technology that affects everyday use. They can be weather satellites for NASA and NOAA, or even instruments used by private companies like Google. The company also designs for military and defense contracts.

Orbital ATK says it already employs approximately 1,950 people across three locations in Arizona.
