A Valley woman has been arrested, accused of swindling an elderly man out of large sums of money.

Scottsdale officers swarmed a Chandler home near Alma School and Queen Creek roads in their search for 25-year-old Amanda Nancy Nicholas.

Investigators say Nicholas wormed her way into the lives of much older men in order to scam them out of money. Scottsdale police say one victim in his 70s was tricked into giving the woman $174,000.

Neighbors say flashy new cars often parked outside the Chandler home, and there were frequent parties on weekends. Now they are left to wonder if stolen money was paying for it all.

"This is not the strangest thing in world, but it is a surprising thing," neighbor Dale Sigfusson said.
