CHANDLER, AZ — Police say several people were evacuated from an apartment complex in Chandler Thursday night after reports of a suspicious package in the area.

Authorities say they were notified about the package at the complex near Alma School and Elliot roads around 10 p.m.
Officers say out of an abundance of caution, they have evacuated the area for the safety of the residents and other bystanders.
Residents were let back into their homes just after midnight.
Police say more outside resources have been called in to determine if the package contains hazardous materials.
