A family was awoken by smells of smoke early Sunday morning after their home caught on fire.
Around 2 a.m., a family living in a rental home near 39th Avenue and Thomas Road was awoken by their daughter who smelled smoke.
The woman grabbed her 2-year-old son and woke up her sister who woke up other family members in the home. The family made it out of the home, but at one point one of the sisters ran back inside for their mother. No one was injured.
Fire officials are investigating but told the family the cause may be electrical.
