Peoria police say a 15-year-old boy is in custody after shooting another teen during a drug transaction earlier this month.
The teen was reportedly booked into the Durango Juvenile Detention Facility on charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, use of a gun during a drug offense and possession of stolen property.
The suspect pulled a handgun and demanded drugs and money from the victim. The two got in a struggle over the gun before the suspect shot the victim in the leg and the chest. The suspect also shot himself in the wrist.
Police say the gun used was recently stolen from a home in another jurisdiction.
The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering.
