PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating a deadly crash near 16th Lane and Northern Avenue Saturday.
Authorities say at around 4:03 p.m. 19-year-old Joseph Robles-Romero was driving at a high rate of speed in a car on Northern Avenue when he collided with a minivan headed in the opposite direction.
The driver of the minivan was making a left turn on to Northern Avenue when the vehicle was hit in the front. The car continued driving and ran into a palm tree and a brick wall.
Robles-Romero was then pronounced dead on the scene by Phoenix firefighters.
The 30-year-old female driver, and four passengers including three children were all uninjured in the collision.
Police say impairment was not detected in the driver of the minivan.
This is an ongoing investigation, police say.
