On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the ride-share company opened its first “Driver Center” in the U.S. in Phoenix. The 20,000-square-foot building acts as a travel pit-stop and mechanic for Lyft riders. It has restrooms, areas to rest, coffee and refreshments, and a body shop where drivers can get discounted rates on oil changes, tire rotation, tires, brake pads, wiper blades, filters, spark plugs, and batteries. Drivers will also be able to talk with Lyft representatives. it is located at 2555 E. University Driver, near 24th Street and University Drive.

In its news release, Lyft said its mechanics would offer "honest prices on maintenance and routine services with the goal of delivering the services drivers need, rather than up-selling them on services they don't." A spokesperson said a full synthetic oil change would cost, $49.99. Pricing on other services would depend on the scope of work needed.

Vehicle diagnostics would be offered for free, the release said. Lyft would begin offering collision and body repair in December, the release said.
