People who live at The Retro off of 32nd Street and Thomas Road are buying their own air conditioning units after the complex swamp cooler failed.

The residents are frustrated after they say the swamp cooler has been going in and out for days. At times, they say it blows out slightly cool air.

Many couldn't take the hot temperatures and spent their own money to get some relief.

One air conditioner was installed as a social worker was inside one of the units checking on two elderly people who had been living without cool air for days.

ABC15 learned several people had complained to the management, which is a company called "Pro Residential Management" based out in California.

ABC15 went to the local office at the complex where an employee said they're taking care of it.

Residents cannot cool off in the pool as it's currently closed for chemical maintenance.

Some are so frustrated they're planning to move.

ABC15 left several messages and sent emails to the management company, but has not heard back yet.
