Flagstaff police arrest student in connection to threatening note found at high school

Flagstaff police are investigating the latest threat in a string of incidents being reported at high schools in recent months.

On Thursday, Flagstaff High School officials put a precautionary shelter in place after finding a seventh threatening note on campus.

According to a police spokesperson, the note referenced an incident that would occur on campus but no additional information about it was released.

After a thorough investigation, police and school officials were able to identify a 17-year-old female student as being responsible for the latest note, police said. She was arrested and is facing felony disruption of an educational institution, threats and intimidation charges.

It’s unknown at this time of the girl is linked to prior notes found at Flagstaff High School. Investigators are continuing to look into those incidents.

In the meantime, Flagstaff police are asking anyone with information in connection to the cases to contact them. Silent Witness is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
