Tucson police have identified a shooting victim who was killed after a confrontation in a trailer park.
Police spokesman Pete Dugan said Friday that 30-year-old Ricardo Navarette-Torres was holding a machete when he was shot.
The incident occurred Thursday around 11 p.m. Police found Navarette-Torres with clear signs of gunshot trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Dugan, Navarette-Torres was holding a machete when he approached a man and a woman who were in a car on their way to another residence. Investigators say they did not know Navarette-Torres.
A confrontation took place and the man, who was driving, pulled out a handgun and fired at the man.
No word yet from police if the man will be charged in the shooting.
