A barking dog helped save a Tucson family by alerting them to a fire in their mobile home.
Tucson Fire says a female resident heard the dog barking early Tuesday and opened the door to find the carport engulfed in flames.
The woman was able to wake up three other family members, including two adults and a 5-year-old girl, and they all made it safely outside.
Capt. Barrett Baker says 23 firefighters were on the scene. Tucson Fire says a propane gas tank exploded but did not cause any injuries. The fire also damaged a car parked in the driveway.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced family.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
