Mule Ridge Fire burning near AZ mining town

Officials are battling a new wildfire in southern Arizona.

The Mule Ridge Fire started on May 31 and has now burned 1,360 acres. The fire is located about a mile away from Ruby, Arizona. No structures are currently threatened.

Over 100 fire personnel are on the scene and a Type 3 team has assumed command.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Grass, brush and oak trees are currently on fire.

Hot, dry weather is expected over the weekend.
