Hackers were able to get into hundreds of thousands of computers over the weekend thanks to a vulnerability in older Microsoft Windows operating systems.
While much of the virus has been contained to businesses and hospitals across Europe and China, your computer may still be vulnerable.
In March 2017 Microsoft recognized a hole in its security and sent out a patch to update Windows Vista and newer supported systems. That meant Windows XP and older versions were completely unprotected until just a few days ago. Due to the size of the cyber attack, Microsoft decided to release a free emergency security patch for all of its older Windows products.
