Additional details have been released regarding an armed robbery of a north Phoenix Chili’s restaurant.

On April 2, Phoenix police responded to theChili'snear Interstate 17 and Carefree Highway around 8 p.m. Police say a suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Jerry Krach entered the restaurant with a shotgun and demanded money from the teenaged employees working there. When they didn’t comply, police say he fired once into the wall near the ceiling.

Witnesses say Krach walked around the restaurant threatening the 30-40 customers inside, before returning to the hostess, telling her to, “cover her ears” as he racked another shell in the shotgun and threatened to shoot customers.

Witnesses say as a family with a baby was crawling to safety, other victims offered their credit cards to Krach to get him to leave.

He eventually left through the kitchen and took off on an ATV, police said.

Krach was followed by a witness who heard the commotion at the restaurant. Police say Krach later pointed the gun at the person following him.

Police located Krach trying to enter an occupied home at a mobile home park, on the interstate frontage road south of Sonoran Desert Drive.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and Arizona Department of Public Safety assisted with the search for Krach.

Krach is being held on a $250,000 bond on charges of attempted armed robbery.
