Additional details have just been released in the recent arrest of an Avondale flasher.
Avondale Police arrested 22-year-old Carl Silva in connection with three incidents involving two victims where Silva allegedly followed the young girls in his car and then exposed himself to them.
Police say all the incidents happened near 119th Avenue and Van Buren Street after school, as the girls were walking home.
On May 22 Silva reportedly followed a girl for about 300 yards. The girl recognized the car as one that followed her in the same area two days prior. In this incident, the girl reported to police that she got tired of running and stopped as Silva’s car approached. She said Silva exposed himself and used one hand to touch himself while recording her reaction with the other.
A neighbor also reportedly witnessed the incident and approached the suspect, who then drove off.
On May 24, undercover officers were in the area as Silva reportedly struck again. Silva was taken into custody and allegedly admitted to exposing himself and recording the girls, attributing his actions to being “sexually deprived.”
Silva has been charged with two counts of public sexual indecency.
