Two robbers used their cars to block in a vehicle and steal from the men inside before shooting and killing one of them, according to court records.

Police said two men were robbed in their car near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road on Friday after the two culprits, one of them a 17-year-old boy, used their cars to block them in.

Police said that after the two suspects blocked in the victims’ car, the juvenile robber punched the victim several times and took his wallet. His partner then entered the car and shot the other victim in the backseat, officials said.

After the shooting the victim drove away, the robbers followed him in their own cars, court records say. One of them rammed the victim's car before driving away.

One of the victims called 911, but his passenger was already dead in the backseat by the time emergency crews arrived.

Later, there was another armed robbery near 38th Avenue and McDowell Road. When police arrived, three suspects ran, but one of them was caught. Inside his pocket was the identification of the victim in the previous robbery, police said.

The juvenile suspect has been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
