An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries at Phoenix Circle K stores.

Police report that from October to November of last year, 18-year-old Miguel Angel Gomez Loera took $8,000 worth of cigarettes in 11 burglaries.

Loera would go behind the counter to fill bags with cigarettes and leave without paying. In some cases, he would threaten the clerk, saying he was armed.

Police say Loera would sell the cigarettes on the street after a smoke shop refused to buy them.

Loera was arrested on February 8 and reportedly identified himself to police in still photos taken of the suspect in each of the stores. Loera also allegedly told police that, "he does not regret what he did because nobody got hurt."

Loera has been charged with multiple counts of burglary and retail theft.
