PHOENIX — A man trespassing in a west Phoenix home was caught after falling through the ceiling.

Phoenix police report that on Jan.14, around 7:45 a.m., a man climbed into the attic of a home near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

Police say his foot went through the ceiling near the front door, but he continued walking around in the attic. He later reportedly fell through the ceiling over the living room and landed on a sofa.

Court records show the man, later identified as Lance Christopher Knight, 40, left a hole in the ceiling that was 2.5 feet by 4 feet in size.

Knight allegedly admitted that he had smoked meth earlier that morning. He also reportedly admitted to doing this before.

Court records show Knight has an extensive prison record, having served 10 years in prison on multiple and separate convictions for aggravated assault, DUI, and car theft.

He is now being charged with criminal trespassing.
