Posted

A Phoenix man is facing charges after attacking another man in a lovers' dispute.

The Monday incident began with an argument between 26-year-old Bryan Jay Denetso and the victim in a parking lot near 15th Street and Camelback Road.

Court documents show the pair was arguing over an alleged affair between the victim's boyfriend and Denetso.

At some point, police believe Denetso went back to his nearby apartment and retrieved a 12-inch kitchen knife, returned to find the victim, and cut him from the back of his head to his left cheek, leaving a 9-inch laceration.

Police quickly found Denetso in his apartment, still wearing the blood-stained shirt. Denetso reportedly told police he had a bloody nose. Police say they found the knife on a book shelf in the apartment.

Denetso has been charged with aggravated assault.
