SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A man says he committed multiple burglaries to give police extra work.

Scottsdale police report that on March 17 a man, later identified as 43-year-old Kevin Ray Hrdlicka, broke into a Brakemasters shop near Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard.

The business later told police that they have been experiencing forced entry burglaries to "numerous locations throughout the Phoenix metro area."

Investigators say ten days later Hrdlicka was arrested by Phoenix police on 12 counts of forced entry burglary to numerous Brakemasters shops.

Upon his arrest, Hrdlicka told investigators that "he wanted to get back at police for arresting his girlfriend" about a year ago on drug charges.

He said he wanted to create more paperwork for officers and it was "his way of getting back at the police."

Hrdlicka has been charged with burglary.
