A teenager was shot and killed one block away from Glendale police headquarters in 2003, and 16 years later, his killer remains at large.

It was about 10 p.m. on March 27, 2003, when 17-year-old Stephone Wickware was walking to catch a bus home from his girlfriend's house near 58th and Glendale avenues when he was shot and killed by someone on a bicycle.

The suspect rode away on his bicycle

Witnesses would tell police that the suspect rode away on his bicycle, northbound on 58th Avenue after shooting Stephone, who was trying to run away when he was shot two times.

Police would later release a composite sketch and a surveillance photo showing the suspect riding away.

"While we're singing 'Happy Birthday' we found the detectives at my door."

The murder, happening the day before Stephone's brother's birthday, devastated the family.

Stephone's mother would tell ABC15, "So while we're singing 'Happy Birthday' we found the detectives at my door."

Please help bring closure to a family still mourning.
