A Mesa resident has been charged for molesting a child last December, while watching cartoons with her.
Court records reveal that on two occasions, a 68-year-old man was watching cartoons at his home with a friend's child, when he molested her.
Mesa police say 68-year-old Roger Allen Anderson was sitting on the couch, at his home, near Broadway and Hawes roads, with the 7-year-old girl. They were watching cartoons on TV when he allegedly molested the child.
Anderson reportedly told police that it happened about two years ago, when the child was six and that, "he stopped because he knew it was wrong, and did not know why he did it."
The victim told police that it happened one other time when they were watching another cartoon.
Anderson responded to police, reportedly telling them that he was tickling the girl and he may have accidentally touched her, in an inappropriate place.
Anderson has been charged with child molestation.
