‘I really messed up’: Zoom CEO on how it's improving privacy and security

In the span of weeks, Zoom Video Communications Inc. has gone from connecting employees and businesses with its videoconferencing tech to providing lifelines for communities stuck indoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But that rise has drawn the attention of trolls and hackers who are exploiting the ease of use that Zoom prides itself on, and in turn, drawn the scrutiny of security experts and the government.

The Wall Street Journal reports that San Jose-based Zoom and CEO Eric Yuan are furiously working to calm users and secure the platform.

“I really messed up as CEO, and we need to win their trust back. This kind of thing shouldn’t have happened,” Yuan told the publication in a video call.
