Luke Perry died on Monday after suffering a massive stroke last week. He was only 52 years old. We’re taking a look at Perry’s best moments as Fred Andrews on Riverdale

1. Being an accepting dad to Archie, telling him to follow his dreams.

When Archie tells his dad that he wants to pursue music instead of running the family business, Fred gives some man-to-man advice to Archie. “I would never force you to play football. You don’t have to play football,” said Fred. “Whatever you decide, be confident it in that you don’t have to lie.” #truthbomb

2. Beating death to be the best parent ever!

After getting shot at the end of season one, Fred Andrews gets shot by the Black Hood. In the first episode of Season 2, with Archie by his bed, Fred wakes up. Archie says he’ll do anything to protect his dad. Fred interrupts with, “That’s why I came back. To protect you.”

3. Fred Andrews for Mayor

In a seemingly rigged election, Fred Andrews, the small town business owner, ran against the city-slicking Hermione Lodge for Mayor of Riverdale. “Riverdale 2020: Small Town with a Big Future” was Fred’s big plan for Riverdale revealed in Chapter Twenty-Eight. And the way his face lit up when Veronica showed him designs for his campaign will never be forgotten. #FredforMayor

4. When he formed the Dad Brigade

When Riverdale was falling apart, and the local law enforcement wasn’t gonna do anything about it, Fred gathered up Tom Keller and F.P. Jones to take matters into their own hands.

5. Being LITERALLY the most supportive dad ever to Archie. (a.k.a. punching Hiram)

Here’s a list of terrible things Archie has done: sleep with Ms. Grundy, start “The Red Circle” Gang, gave loyalty to Hiram Lodge and didn’t endorse his own dad and even took a car from Hiram. Fred stood by him after all those things AND gave him support when Archie was in a fighting ring in prison. Fred Andrews had more patience than anyone in Riverdale and we will surely miss it.
