While most of the rest of the country experiences the winter blues every year, we here in the Valley come down with a bad case of the summer blues.  Until recently, it was too hot to go out to do anything, but we're now ready to cure this cabin fever.

Luckily for us, WalletHub named two Phoenix-area cities a couple of the most fun in the country.  Out of the 150 most populated U.S. cities, Scottsdale landed at number 10 and Tempe sits at number 13.

What's so great about Scottsdale?  The number of public golf courses for starters.  Scottsdale boasts nearly 13 golf courses per 100,000 according to the study.  It also has the most fitness centers, around 228 per 100,000 residents.  In contrast, Gilbert ranked pretty low on the fun-o-meter.  Gilbert placed 132, dragged down by the low number of dance clubs and park playgrounds.

How did WalletHub come up with the rankings?  It looked at three key categories: entertainment and recreation, nightlife and parties and costs.  Under those categories were 51 metrics including venues like coffee shops, water parks and sports stadiums.
