They each started with $400 and a dream.

Now three Chandler men have opened up their first brick and mortar store.

Mike Spangenberg, Stephen Polando and Stephen's brother Nicholas started the State Forty Eight line of products three years ago. They were printing shirts and shipping them out of an apartment.

Now they have their own store and warehouse off of Arizona Ave near Elliot Rd.

"We're in about 12 to 15 retailers locally, including many places at sky harbor airport and numerous gift shops in hotels round the Valley," Stephen Polando said.

The three do the majority of the printing, making t-shirts, tank tops, hats and other items touting Arizona pride.

"Just seeing how popular it has become and even though we know how much work there is to do, the surprising thing is how it's latched on and people really love it," said Spangenberg.
