PHOENIX – In a study by WalletHub, scientists estimate which state is the happiest in America, and Arizona made the top 20!
So how do you measure happiness?
The study uses three key dimensions to weigh happiness to environmental factors:
1) Emotional & Physical Well-Being
2) Work Environment
3) Community & Environment
Arizona ranked 18 for overall happiness but scored the seventh spot for the best work environment.
The number one spot for overall happiness went to Hawaii with Utah, Minnesota, California, New Jersey, and Idaho following after.
The bottom of the list had West Virginia in 50th place and Arkansas, Alaska, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Kentucky just above it.
Thirty-one metrics were measured in each state including suicide rates, unemployment, sports participation, divorce rate, and safety, just to name a few.
