We stopped in two places near Tucson where you can experience the desert of the American Southwest.
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is not your typical museum. It’s part zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, and natural history museum.
With over 242 desert animals and over 56,000 desert plant species, you could easily spend an entire day here learning all about Arizona’s diverse ecosystem and it’s incredible history.
The Saguaro National Park is named after the symbol of Arizona and splits into two areas. The west side is developed with short trails, while the east side is more remote.
There’s a trail for whatever type of adventure you’re looking for, but if you’re not up for hiking or camping, you can always take a beautiful scenic drive through the park.
There’s nature, wildlife, and a whole lot of saguaros here, so take a trip to Southern Arizona and experience and American Southwest.
