The Wildlife World Zoo,Aquariumand Safari Park welcomed a new baby sea lion recently.

Sunny was born on August 17 at 10 p.m. to mom, Paris, and dad, Crockett. The pup entered the world at a whopping 17 pounds, according to Kristy Morcom, spokesperson for the zoo. Thanks to a smooth labor, both mom and pup are healthy.

Now two months old, Sunny weighs 33 pounds and is ready to make his public debut!

He can be seen in the sea lion habitat with his happy family.

The zoo is located near the Loop 303 and Northern Avenue. Admission is $20 - $40 per person, plus tax. It is open every day from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. The aquarium is open until 7 p.m.

Paris had a four-hour labor which varies by mother, just like with humans.

Sea lions hold onto the egg before fertilization for three months, before carrying the baby for an additional nine months. This process is called delayed implantation.

Both sea lions and seals, along with walruses, are pinnipeds which means "fin footed" in Latin.
