The first night of a new "Bachelor" or "Bachelorette" series always includes some ridiculous contestants and over-the-top moments.

One of those moments during Monday night's "Bachelorette" season premiere came courtesy of a former Arizona Wildcats football player.

Adam Gottschalk is a 27-year-old real estate agent who joined the UA football team as a walk-on in 2008, the same time Rob Gronkowski played for the Wildcats. It doesn't look like Gottschalk saw much playing time in Tucson, but he did help create a song that was played before UA football games.

Well, when Adam met "Bachelorette" Rachel Lindsay for the first time, he brought a friend: Adam Jr., an ominous-looking doll who apparently speaks with a French accent.

SB Nation's Arizona Desert Swarm site was among the first to realize that Adam (the man, not the doll) is the same man who played safety under then-head coach Mike Stoops in Tucson.

Good news for Adam: He made the first cut of the "Bachelorette" season. Bad news: His doll did not -- even though he has his own Twitter account.

In his "Bachelorette" bio, Adam noted he's a fantastic cook and has a fear of snakes and spiders.

He was also asked: What's the most romantic gift you've ever received?

"Threesome. It was my birthday," he said.

Let's hope the doll wasn't involved in that one.
