Surprise firefighters: Several people hurt in serious crash at Bell and Dysart roads

Authorities responded to a major crash in the Northwest Valley on Monday night. 

First responders were called to the scene near W. Bell and N. Dysart roads around 9 p.m.

According to a Surprise Fire Department Battalion Chief Julie Moore, two patients were flown from the scene by helicopters and six others transported by ground to trauma centers.

The two people flown by helicopter are an adult woman who is five months pregnant and a 14-year-old, Moore said. An infant and parent were among the ones transported on the ground.

The remaining patients range in age from 13 to 19 years old, Moore said.

At least one patient had to be pulled out of a crashed vehicle.

Video from Air15 showed the intersection full of police cars, fire trucks and the vehicles involved in the crash.
