Peoria police say they’ve made an arrest in a robbery and shooting that left one person dead Wednesday.

The incident happened near 81st and Peoria avenues around 4:30 p.m.

Police say the suspect, Jourdyn Ford, was arrested Thursday afternoon near 43rd and Peoria avenues.

The victim, 57-year-old Christina Park, was taken to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday but has since died.

Police say Park was the owner of the Park Clothing Center that Ford robbed while shooting her twice.

Ford also allegedly left the scene in Park's vehicle, which was later found abandoned.

Ford was also arrested in February of 2017 for allegedly leaving his three young cousins behind at a Walmart after he shoplifted. He was charged with child abuse and shoplifting in that case.

Ford was found Thursday at an apartment complex and was taken into custody using Peoria SWAT and K9 units along with Phoenix police and the US Marshalls.  He's expected to face charges of homicide and aggravated robbery.
