Avondale fire officials say a 4-year-old boy has been taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after he was pulled from a pool on Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened at the child's grandparents home near 107th Avenue and Indian School Road during a family gathering.
Officials say family members pulled the boy from the pool. It's unclear how long he was in the pool for.
According to Avondale fire, there was no pool fence.
According to police officials on scene, multiple family members are being interviewed as detectives conduct their investigation.
