Police say a driver fled the scene after a vehicular assault early Monday morning at Tempe Marketplace.

The incident occurred at the shopping center near Rio Salado Parkway and McClintock Drive.

Police tell ABC15 that a man reportedly saw his ex-girlfriend leaving work with a male coworker. The ex-boyfriend then got into his vehicle and rammed the male coworker's car at a rate upwards of 80 miles per hour.

The male victim's car was pushed on its side up against a tree. He was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, according to police.

The suspect driver reportedly left the scene on foot and has not yet been located. Officials are searching for him in a nearby riverbed area.

No other information has been released.
