Police say a woman recently returned to her west Phoenix home and found a stranger sleeping in her bed.

Phoenix Police report that on Nov. 24 they responded to a burglar alarm at a home near 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road.

They left after finding the house secure.

About an hour later, the homeowner came home. She saw that nothing was taken, but noticed someone had entered through a dog door. The suspect also ripped the alarm panel off the wall, officials said.

When she discovered her bedroom door was locked she called 911.

Officers entered the bedroom and found 24-year-old Gabriel Eddie Avila Lovato asleep on the bed.

Lovato reportedly told police that he was looking for a place to sleep, authorities said.

He has been charged with burglary.
