Nearly 10 months after a crash that could have killed a family of three, police have released 911 calls made in the moments after the crash near 67th Avenue and Van Buren.

"Is anyone stuck inside the vehicle?” a dispatcher asked.

“Yes stuck inside and they're screaming, I'm going to hang up and try and help them,” a caller responded.

It’s the early morning hours of July 13, 2015. Police say Miguel Maldonado, 14, and his passenger ran a red light and broad-sided a white SUV carrying a family of three.

Other callers reported to police the gruesome scene.

Oh my god there's a baby out here,” a caller said.

"How many people are in the vehicle on its side?" a 911 operator asked.

"It's a girl, her boyfriend and a baby girl, she's only three years old,” a caller replied.

Aria, just 3 years old at the time, was thrown from the SUV she was in.

Witnesses reported she wasn’t moving and she wasn’t breathing.

“Is there anyone assisting the baby?” a dispatcher asked.

“There's a couple assisting the baby, the baby is stuck between the pole, the leg is twisted,” a caller said.

Those who called 911 also told police the suspect was trying to get away.

“The people that are drunk are trying to start their car and are trying to leave,” one said.

The family in the SUV would survive the crash.

Prosecutors decided to charge Miguel Maldonado as an adult. He faces felony charges and is due back in court this week.
