Phoenix police say a death reported on South Mountain Saturday afternoon is now believed to be from a medical incident.
The incident was first reported as a mountain rescue around 12:30 p.m., but nobody was transported from the scene.
Phoenix police said the victim suffered an unknown medical issue and there were no indications of trauma or foul play.
Since the death was unattended, detectives will still take over the investigation.
The medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause of death.
