Police are investigating after a man's body and a bike were left in the roadway in South Phoenix overnight.
Phoenix police said they received two emergency calls, one for a body in the road and another for a bike in road near 19th and Southern avenues early Thursday morning.
When officers arrived, they found the 54-year-old man who was dead at the scene. Police believe he was on a bicycle in the southbound lanes of 19th Avenue and was hit by a vehicle that took off.
Police do not have a description of the car that was involved.
Officers said Southern Avenue was closed in both directions while they were out doing the investigation.
