You’ve likely heard his voice at one time or another on your car radio. But today Jason Christopher’s voice is missing from the air.

The iHeartRadio traffic reporter’s family tells ABC15 Jason is battling brain cancer. The news came five days after he underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor. The official diagnosis is glioblastoma. It’s the same type of cancer that John McCain is battling.

Jason has been on Valley airwaves for more than 20 years. He started on the overnight shift before rising to traffic reporter with iHeartRadio stations all over Phoenix.

"Could you imagine being in traffic half a million times? Well thanks to Jason Christopher you got there a little quicker," remarked Jason’s co-host TimHattrick.

Jason is in a tough fight. According to the American Brain Tumor Association patients survive two or three years after diagnosis. But his family and friends are determined to beat the odds. They've set up a GoFundMe account to help him in his battle.

"I just love him. We're all just very hopeful and prayerful that everything is going to work out," said Hattrick.
