An Apache Junction man was arrested after a deadly collision that happened while he was allegedly on four different types of drugs.

Mesa police report that in the early afternoon of June 9, Mark Christian Honicky, age 58, rear-ended a car at Dobson Road and Southern Avenue. The collision caused the driver of the car to suffer injuries to his head, leg and shoulder while his passenger was killed.

Witnesses to the crash reported that Honicky was using his phone while driving. Police estimated that he was traveling about 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour. Police also report that they found no pre-collision skid marks at the scene.

Honicky reportedly told police that he passed out and does not remember the crash. Police say Honicky admitted using Heroin and Methamphetamine the night before the crash and taking Adderall and Tramadol the morning of the collision.

Honicky is being held on a $100,000 bond for charges of endangerment and manslaughter.
